Investors sue over R300m forex loss - 19 August
Hundreds of South African investors who say they were duped out of more than $35-million (R280-million at today's rates) in a failed foreign exchange scheme have launched a class action against KPMG International, claiming the global auditing giant breached its duty of care to them. The action has been brought by Durban businessman Sergio Domiro on behalf of 889 people who collectively invested $38.5m (R308m) with Leaderguard Spot Forex, which was placed into liquidation in 2005. - IOL website

Netcare ordered to reinstate barred surgeon - 1 September
Dr Ajay Makanjee was granted an interim order by Judge Themba Sishi on Monday, which suspended Netcare's decision to take away his admission privileges. Makanjee brought an application asking the court to set aside and review a decision to suspend his admission privileges at Netcare hospitals. Pending a decision on that application, an interim order was granted on Monday. - IOL website
