I notice that more and more companies, especially the really big ones, are hiring staff to watch the social media and things like that.  A friend of mine recently wrote on Twitter about the fact that he felt that the Virgin Active branch at Old Eds was on a steady slide, and he was contacted within an hour or so by representatives of Virgin Active. - Michael de Broglio's Legal Blog

Twitter's not on my portfolio, teen tells global investors  - 15 July
A 15-year-old Briton has set the financial world abuzz with a research note penned for a major US bank in which he reveals teenagers' media habits - including that Twitter is just not cool. Matthew Robson wrote the report while on work experience with US bank Morgan Stanley in London, and the result was described by his boss, Edward Hill-Wood, as "one of the clearest and most thought-provoking insights we have seen". The research note has been circulated to Morgan Stanley clients. - Business Report website

Twitter calls lawyer over hacking - 16 July
The microblogging service Twitter is taking legal advice after hundreds of documents were hacked into and published by a number of blogs. TechCrunch has made public some of the 310 bits of material it was sent. 
It posted information about Twitter's financial projections and products. - BBC News website
