ATM bomber sentenced to 74 years - 8 July
A KwaZulu-Natal ATM bomber was sentenced to 74 years in jail, police said on Wednesday. "The Durban High Court on Tuesday sentenced Musa Nene to 74 years in jail. He faced three counts of attempted murder, three of malicious damage to property, one of theft, and one of attempted theft," said Superintendent Vincent Mdunge. Mdunge described the sentence as a "good one", saying it would send a clear message to criminals that ATM bombing was a serious crime. Nene had been on the run for two years and was arrested in July 2008, he said. - IOL website
