SABC workers can strike - 1 July
The Johannesburg Labour Court on Wednesday dismissed a bid by the SABC to stop its workers from striking. This followed the SABC's applying for a strike certificate, first issued by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) two weeks ago, to be reviewed. The application led to the employees affiliated to the Media Workers' Association of SA (Mwasa) and the Communications Workers Union (CWU) abandoning the use of the CCMA certificate until the Labour Court had made a decision. - IOL website
