Summary

Fate of prostitutes in the balance - 11 May
Should adult prostitution be decriminalised totally or not? This is just one of the questions being posed by the SA Law Reform Commission in a discussion paper which has been released for public comment. Other options contained in the document include the partial criminalisation of some forms of adult prostitution or the regulation of adult prostitution and prostitution-related acts. The primary aim of the discussion paper is to consider the need for law reform in relation to adult prostitution and to identify alternative policy and legislative responses that might regulate, prevent, deter or reduce prostitution, a statement from the commission reads. -
