David Clementi, has PLEDGED TO SQUARE UP TO ANY VESTED INTERESTS IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION (Scotsman 2004-03-08). A proposed shake-up of the legal profession, published today, could result in the SETTING-UP OF A NEW SUPER-REGULATOR. The powerful body could have responsibility for training, making rules, complaints and discipline. The move would split the combined regulatory and representative functions currently held by five legal professional bodies, including the Law Society and the Bar Council (Scotsman 2004-03-08).
