Khoza trial rolled over - 26 February
The trial in which ANC councillor Vusi Khoza and three others are accused of being part of a xenophobic mob attack in Durban was stalled yesterday because no State witnesses were available to testify. The charges relate to a January, 2009, attack on the Venture Africa building, which left Zimbabwean Victor Zowa and Tanzanian Said Omar dead after they were apparently forced out of a fifth-floor window. - IOL website

Zimbabwean national Eugene Madondo is adamant that ANC and Albert Park ward councillor Vusi Khoza was the "ring leader" of the gang that attacked him at the Ventura Africa block of flats last year. Madondo, who was the first state witness to testify at the start of the trial last year of Khoza and three others, returned to the Durban Regional Court yesterday to answer more questions from defence advocate Mike Mthembu. - IOL website
