Access to Sabinet's South African Legislation
In November 2011 Sabinet Online, in conjunction with the profession’s Law Library (formerly KwaZulu-Natal Law Society Library : www.lawlibrary.co.za) announced that they would offer free access to South African Legislation to small law firms until 31 October 2012. Due to the resounding success of this initiative, the parties decided to extend the offer up until the 31stof March 2013.
Sabinet announced that it will continue with the offer to qualifying small law firms to access its South African Legislation product for free for an undetermined period.
The process granting access to the legislation has however changed for these users. As of 1 June qualifying law firms will have direct access to an alphabetical list of Acts from the web site www.salegislation.co.za and access the full text by using their current user id and password. Alternatively firms can subscribe to the South African Legislation (NetLaw) product at a reduced annual subscription rate should they wish to continue to have access to the Legal platform, weekly newsletter and the search functionality provided. This offer applies to all qualifying law firms.
Any existing users who wish to subscribe to the South African Legislation (Netlaw) product will be required to sign an additional subscription form.
All new users will be granted access according to the option they select.
The offers above will only be available to qualifying law firms. The following criteria must be complied with :
- The law firm must comprise of three (3) or fewer practising attorneys ;
- Their fidelity fund certificates and annual law society subscriptions must be up to date and paid in full ;
- The law firm must already have Internet connectivity to be able to make use of this online legislation product.
